New penalties to hit over one million drivers
More than a million motorists will be just one speeding offence away from being banned from driving under a new penalty system being considered by nanny state Labour government ministers.
The government may double the number of penalty points for breaking the speed limit by a large margin - making a six-month driving ban more likely for those who drive at 45mph in a 30mph zone.
Paul Smith, founder of campaign group Safe Speed, said: "Drivers will be concerned they will face losing their licences after two cases of driving safely - exceeding the speed limit isn't automatically dangerous."
Labour ministers blinkered views are ignoring the facts that minor infractions of speeding aren't the major causes of accidents, those are caused by stupid driving and crap parking.
